Abstract: |
The aim of the textbook is to introduce students to the components of intensive and emergency medicine and surgery technology, including monitoring, support, and replacement systems for vital functions, modern surgical technologies and techniques, and in vitro diagnostic, blood transfusion, and transplant technology for patient care in the Emergency Department (ED) and Intensive Care Units (ICUs). The textbook aims to provide students with an understanding of the basic physical principles of operation of each basic device, apparatus, or installation of biomedical technology in the ICUs/ED and operating rooms, to familiarize them with the most widely used technical solutions, and, finally, to address specific aspects relating to the functionality, safety, and quality control of the methods and materials examined.
