Abstract:
This chapter analyses the concept of decision and presents basic theories about its functioning in the organizational environment. The most well-known decision-making strategies are captured and linked to the specificities of the cooperative organization. The basic models in decision-making are then listed and their compatibility with the cooperative organizational form is checked, as well as the procedures followed in these organizations for decision-making. The factors that influence decision-making in cooperatives are analyzed and particular emphasis is placed on the differences between cooperatives and conventional enterprises in this field. Finally, the chapter is complemented by comprehension exercises for the student.
