Abstract:
Millet belongs to the cereal grains of warm climates. The plant’s botanical characteristics and its biological cycle are directly related to its adaptability and good agricultural practice. This chapter includes the description of the root system, stem, leaves, inflorescences and kernel of the plant. Emphasis is placed on botanical characteristics related to the root system, stem, leaves, arrangement and parts of the inflorescence of the Poaceae family and particularly of the genus Panicum, Setaria and Pennisetum.
