Abstract:
The concept of cost of equity and its importance for a company are firstly presented. Then, the empirical models for the calculation of its value are determined, focusing mainly on CAPM model. Next, the risk of a company represented by beta coefficient is separated into financial and business risk, with the use of unlevered beta. Finally, we present the relationship between capital structure and the cost of equity.
