Abstract: |
The purpose of this three-volume textbook is to serve as the first collective publication of the Department of Surgery at the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA). In this context, and given the number of individual topics covered, which essentially encompass all surgical specialties, the work is structured into three volumes. The first volume focuses on minimally invasive techniques and modern advancements in critical areas of surgery, such as oesophageal, liver, pancreatic, intestinal, breast, and kidney surgery, analysing new methods and practices for more effective diagnosis and treatment.
This textbook aims to be a valuable scientific resource for surgeons, contributing to their knowledge and training in the latest innovations in modern surgical practice.
