Chapter 8 analyzes the extensive (open-field) snail farming systems. It begins with the general principles of snail farm construction and the required equipment. The chapter then discusses soil characteristics, the forage plants cultivated within the farm (species, sowing, requirements, growth), and their management. Finally, it presents the various stages of the production process and comments on them in relation to the farmed species, abiotic conditions, and nutrition.
