Description:
Abstract:
The fourth chapter constitutes an application of fundamental knowledges of open channel hydraulics especially to natural open channels, namely to rivers. Therefore, the particularities of natural open channels are emphasized, e.g., the different bed and bank roughness, the vegetation and the secondary flows in the curved parts of the rivers. Apart from that, the basic knowledges of open channel hydraulics are applied to the river hydraulic structures, e.g. to the check dams, bridge piers and reservoirs, with a distant aim to calculate the flow depth, as well as to dimension the hydraulic structures.
