Abstract: |
This chapter analyzes the processes of debugging and evaluation of a multimedia application, both at a methodological and practical/applicable level. Within this context, it presents various methodological approaches and types of evaluation (formative/final, qualitative/quantitative, etc.) associated with corresponding usability guidelines, testing scenarios, and metrics. As a result, the chapter also discusses the corresponding debugging actions, alpha testing, and beta testing of a multimedia product. These stages play a crucial role and are carried out at different phases along the multimedia production chain, depending on the selected development model. Additionally, this chapter includes and analyzes characteristic multimedia development scenarios and digital storytelling examples, aiming to improve understanding of the mechanisms and importance of the evaluation and debugging processes.
