Abstract:
This chapter focuses on the concept of post-production, specifically referring to all the processes of editing, managing, and formatting multimedia content, prior to the stages of multimedia authoring, management, and distribution of the final multimedia product. This refers to post-production at the level of content/media assets, not the broader post-production processes within the overall multimedia production chain (i.e., the distribution and management techniques presented in Chapter 9). Although this phase is often treated as a subset of production, its separate treatment in the proposed book is a deliberate choice, serving specific educational and methodological purposes. This separation allows for the detailed presentation and justification of various content editing and formatting needs, along with examples and practical use-case scenarios involving multiple digital editing tools for audiovisual and multimedia content currently available.
