Abstract: |
This chapter focuses on the production processes of all multimedia assets, which constitute the fundamental building blocks in the development of an interactive multimedia application. It presents the main content types—namely: text, audio, image, video, graphics/animation (motion graphics), and interactive interfaces, along with the accompanying metadata, which are an integral part of modern applications. The chapter describes the processes of creation, capture/recording, digitization, and compression of content—whether it originates from the digitization of analog phenomena and signals or is natively digital. Finally, it outlines the technical and functional characteristics of each content type, their role and usefulness within a multimedia production, as well as the processing, formatting, and integration requirements necessary for creating a complete and cohesive multimedia product.
