Abstract: |
This chapter analyzes the main methodologies and corresponding development models for multimedia at theoretical, research, and practical levels. It presents the stages of software development, encompassing all necessary actions for completing a multimedia project—from the initial idea and design phase to the final product's completion, distribution, and maintenance. It also explores the impact of the technical equipment involved, navigation terminals, and the skills of end users on various multimedia production methodologies. The purpose of the chapter is to highlight the distinct phases of development (and their sequencing) and to identify the core processes common to almost all development models—whether the focus is on building a new product from scratch or managing, adapting, and expanding existing systems.
