Description:
Abstract:
In chapter 1, the main types of eukaryotic and prokaryotic cells’ biological membranes are described. Techniques for cell homogenisation and fractionation, as well as for the purification of individual organelles by different types of centrifugation/ultracentrifugation are described. Finally, the characterisation of individual biological membrane fractions is based on purity criteria, involving enzymic and morphological markers.
