Abstract:
The goal of Chapter 1 is to demonstrate the evolution and redefinition of the central concepts of global politics. It begins with the concepts of power, national sovereignty, and national interest, their development and types, and how their content varies depending on the context within today’s global system. Subsequently, it moves on to discuss some concepts that have entered the field of International Relations in recent decades, such as global legitimacy, legitimization and accountability, and the provision of global public goods. Specifically, Chapter 1 aims to concisely present the set of concepts necessary for understanding the issues and challenges currently facing global politics.
