Description:
Abstract:
The chapter studies the interaction of social structure and individual action in the translation field. It examines the dynamic relationship between culture/culture and society, nationally and internationally, as depicted in the field of translation as mediation. It studies the actors involved in the act of translation, from the author and translator to the editor, publisher, critic and reader, and their social formation. It highlights the historicity of the act of translation and illuminates the production, interpretation and circulation of the text in their complexity, that is, how they reconcile the individual with the social.
