Abstract: |
The experimental exercise of this chapter studies wave interference and how the interference phenomenon is used to measure small lengths or the wavelength of light. The topics examined are: A) Understanding the operation and use of the Michelson interferometer for measuring the wavelength of laser light, and B) Calculating the refractive index of air from the change in the optical path (air density) of the interfering light beams.
