The final chapter addresses specific topics related to the evaluation and quality control of urban transit systems. These include performance-based service contracts between transit agencies and private companies, the application of software and new technologies that can significantly support evaluation efforts (such as GPS, mobile communications, social media platforms, etc.), the use of evaluation results by transit agencies to improve transportation services, and, finally, the benefits that can be gained both by transit organizations and by society as a whole through effective evaluation of transit services.
