Description:
Abstract:
This chapter focuses on presenting an example regarding the installation of the basic technological platform to support Educational Internet Environments, such as Learning Management Systems. The example involves the implementation of a 3-tier architecture that utilizes a web server, a database, and a scripting programming language. Specifically, this chapter will provide a detailed presentation of the steps needed to install the Apache web server, the PHP programming language, and the MySQL database management system on both Windows and Linux operating systems. These three elements are essential for serving websites that contain not only static content but also dynamic content loaded from a database.
