Description:
Abstract:
Key factors that characterize a pregnancy as high risk include pathological history, the woman's age (e.g., <18 and >36), low socioeconomic status, being unmarried (and generally poor family status), multiparity, multiple pregnancies, and serious pathological and surgical problems during pregnancy. Abnormalities and inflammations of the genitourinary tract, specific infections, as well as feverish conditions, may also characterize the pregnancy as high risk. Dangerous infections include cytomegalovirus, toxoplasmosis, rubella, listeriosis, syphilis, hepatitis, AIDS, etc. Specifically, pathological factors include hypertensive disorders, gestational diabetes, other endocrine diseases, severe anemia, etc.
