Description:
Abstract:
The Renaissance marks the introduction of linear perspective as a systematic method for objectively representing space on a two-dimensional pictorial surface. This mathematically based technique ensures that space is depicted independently of the artist’s personal views or temperament, establishing a standardized visual logic. Between 1401 and 1524, central perspective positioned humanity at the center of the world, reflecting the era’s humanistic worldview. However, during the subsequent Mannerist period, artists began to alter the depiction of three-dimensional space, shifting it away from depth and directing it toward the viewer.
