Description:
Abstract:
The third chapter focuses on speech processing. It begins with a detailed analysis of the psycholinguistic model proposed by Stackhouse & Wells (1997). Based on data from typical and atypical development, the discussion then focuses on two principal factors that are implicated in speech processing: phonological representations and speech reading. The chapter concludes with a brief discussion of the link between speech processing and literacy acquisition.
