The fifth teaching unit (TU5) of the book presents the most important stages in understanding the primary productivity of natural ecosystems, mainly the productivity of plant organisms and their sums. This is attempted by describing the phenomenon of growth, mechanisms of plant growth, physiological and biochemical mechanisms and their control in plant growth, environmental effects on plant growth and measurement of productivity.
