Abstract: |
The idea of this chapter is that the object designed in scale belongs to and mediates between larger and smaller scales. Synchronicity and the mutual inclusion of large and small worlds resolve in designing within a cosmic dimension: the idea of the continuum is investigated through science, philosophy, art and realized architecture. A poetic view of the house, the link between interior and exterior, the dynamic development of space as fold, the role of gardens as an approach to the universe (ecumene) and the idea of paradise as well as the genealogy of museums as a world of precious or rare objects, are presented. Lastly, continuum is viewed also as an extension to infinity.
