Authors: Manoliadis, Odysseas
Reviewer: Protopapas, Angelos
Description:
Abstract:
Finally, Chapter 10 presents and solves some problems in specific issues of environmental economics which help to understand the compensations that always arise when economic development brings about adverse effects on the environment. The problems involve power generation, water intake management, air pollutant emission control, surface and groundwater cleanup of toxic contaminants, and the economics of a recycling program, phasing out a pesticide. Also problems of optimal extraction of a consumable resource over a number of years and management of fishing areas are included.
