Chapter 9 works in conjunction with Chapter 8. The nature of social impact assessment is described, and brief descriptions of various social science tools that can be used to assess these impacts are provided. Important prognostic methods are also briefly described. The forms of social impact assessments are not developed in detail as they are, generally, similar to those for environmental impacts.
