Abstract: |
In Chapter 11, we will focus on case studies and basic exercises. Specifically, we will examine two contemporary social challenges: social cohesion and the environmental crisis. What can modern libraries do through targeted educational programs to address these issues? The first case will describe the problem of social cohesion in modern societies (e.g., changing population composition, social isolation of individuals and groups, etc.). The second case will describe how cultural institutions can engage with the environmental crisis by promoting awareness and educating the public. For both cases, examples of educational initiatives will be developed to provide students with practical experience.
