Abstract: |
This academic textbook serves a dual purpose. On the one hand, it aims to highlight the educational role of libraries and information centers within any organization or business, in the broader socio-economic environment. In other words, it seeks to underscore the competency of libraries in supporting various educational processes as a natural continuation of their longstanding tradition in this field. Simultaneously, it endeavors to illuminate the ways in which these organizations, besides accumulating and managing information and knowledge, can actively and effectively participate in modern, multifaceted educational endeavors. On the other hand, this book identifies and presents the individual parameters that contribute to the successful planning, effective implementation, and evaluation of various educational actions taking place—or that could potentially take place—within different types of libraries and information centers in Greece and abroad. This is achieved through the presentation of good practices, case studies, and example exercises designed to actively engage learners in understanding the basic parameters related to individual organizational and educational issues.
