Chapter 5 addresses the interregional analysis of entrepreneurial and innovative activities within the Greek economy. This chapter undertakes both a theoretical and empirical approach to the European economy by examining and evaluating entrepreneurship, innovative activities, and economic development. Specifically, it analyzes the framework and the implementation process of operational programming within the European Union and examines the key determinants of competitive advantage. The chapter also provides an analysis and distinction of the main characteristics and determining factors of the innovation and development capacity of European enterprises.
