Chapter 2 analyzes the framework and evolution of European enterprises and describes and evaluates the actions of the European Union in the field of strengthening entrepreneurship, and consequently, the efficiency and productivity of enterprises. This chapter presents the development of European policy concerning enterprises and the factors influencing its implementation, as well as the impacts and outcomes of the policy to date on the developmental trajectory of the member states and regions of the European Union. It addresses the design, implementation, results produced, and prospects of the policy within the European Union.
