Description:
Abstract:
Successful businesses are based on the systematic collection, processing and utilization of data in decision making. Without a doubt, the use of big data is transforming the way the human resources department operates and, by extension, affects every employee. It therefore becomes imperative to take advantage of the relevant changes to achieve a sustainable competitive advantage, which is also a key objective of strategic human resource management. The eighth chapter of the book first explores the concept of "big data", analyzes some "myths" related to it, as they are reflected in the literature and then focuses on the organizational environment and in particular on the management of human resources. It presents the so-called "analytics of human resources" (descriptive, predictive, regulatory/normative) and demonstrates its application in human resource planning and talent management. Finally, it introduces the reader to big data ethics.
