Talent management as a theory and practice demonstrates the focus on the human factor as a strategic tool for quality and competitiveness. This chapter initially aims to clarify the concepts of talent and talent management, but also to demonstrate the components of a talent management system. Furthermore, Greece's position in the global GTCI ranking produced by Insead, Adecco and Google is presented, while reference is made to the issue of brain drain. Finally, specific examples of talent management practices from the international context are analyzed so that the reader is able to recognize and fully understand the challenges associated with talent management in businesses and to be able to draw up and implement an effective talent management strategy.
