Abstract: |
As far as "lens design" is concerned , the term "aspherical" usually refers to a surface, which is rotationally symmetric, but at the same time not spherical. A change in the curvature of the lens surface is observed, rather than a constant curvature such as a spherical surface. The change is still the same in all directions or meridians of the lens. 3D aspherical surfaces are produced by non-circular rotation of a curve around an axis of symmetry. Aspherical surfaces cannot be accurately measured with conventional measuring instruments Eye rotation must also be taken into account when fitting. This requires a reduction of the optical center, based on the pantoscopic angle of the frame.
