Abstract:
Pupil distance (PD) is the distance between the pupils. It is a personal measurement that can change during life, and it can be measured with a korometer or a simple ruler. This value is very important when fitting the glasses. The griding machines, either manual or automatic, are electrically powered devices, which can remove part of the glass or organic, in order to give the appropriate shape and groove (bevel) of the eyeglass lens. Finally, the equipment of an optical laboratory should necessarily have various types of pliers, screwdrivers and other small tools as well as specialized devices such as paint automatic machines and metal welding devices.
