Authors: Koukoulas, Yannis
Description:
Abstract:
Chapter 7 examines contemporary theories and critiques around the notion of postmodern parody, pastiche and other recontextualizing practices of intellectuals such as Fredric Jameson, David Harvey, Terry Eagleton and the ‘line of defense’ as expressed by Giorgio Agamben, Linda Hutcheon, Margaret Rose, Jonathan Gray etc. Finally, the ways of producing humour in the visual arts (Sheri Klein) and Gérard Genette's refinements on the concept of parody are listed.
