Description:
Abstract:
Macro and micro economic, structural, institutional and political dimensions of the Greek economy, in a timeframe of three (3) periods. A. 1995-2008 (a period of high economic growth, but with intensive problems of competitiveness and economic imbalances), B. 2009- 2013 (the Great Depression), C. 2014+ (structural policies for the rapid growth of the Greek economy). The analysis is not descriptive but is based on tools of economic theory & public choice i.e. economic analysis of decision mechanisms outside markets. The analysis also includes the influence, effects and content of economic policies arising from country's obligations to the creditors. Apart from macroeconomic issues, part I will focus on economic institutions (The Constitution, the efficiency of justice, education, economic analysis of corruption, etc.). At the microeconomic framework, structural changes are at the forefront of the analysis.
