In Chapter 2 we will make the necessary conceptual clarifications on the sociological, central conceptual tools used in this textbook. Its aim is to familiarize students with basic concepts of political sociology, gender studies and youth studies, which are at the heart of our analysis. There will be a review of the literature on research on the relationship between youth and politics and its evolutionary trends, as well as a reference to the role of recent important socio-political events both in shaping the (gendered) political identities of young people, and as motivators for deepening the study of youth politics.
