Description:
Abstract:
The chapter begins with a presentation of the concept of political culture, its function in political socialisation and its differentiation into individual types. It continues with a discussion of the mass media, with an emphasis on their political dimension. Within this context, the focus is on the American case and the declining credibility of the media and the actual conditions of the production of journalistic discourse. The analysis follows the role of the interest group in the context of the functioning of the political system and, finally, the concept of public opinion and the different ways in which this is expressed.
