Conceptual approaches, definitions and inequalities towards unemployment
Authors: Karamesini, Maria
Description:
Abstract:
The chapter examines the conceptual approaches, definitions, and ways of measuring unemployment and inequalities towards it. It emphasizes the distinction between the static approach to unemployment, which refers to a momentary depiction of the unemployed as part of the labour force, and the dynamic approach to unemployment, as a dynamic changing situation resulting from the flows between employment, unemployment, and the inactive population.
