Childhood obesity is one of the most serious public health challenges of the 21st century. This is a global problem and is constantly affecting many low- and middle-income countries, especially in urban areas. Obesity in early childhood is particularly worrying because of its effects on both the health and psychosocial development of the child. In addition, it is a risk factor for obesity in adolescence and adulthood.
