Regional inequalities and composite indicators
Authors: Artelaris, Panagiotis
Description:
Abstract:
The aim of the chapter is to highlight the importance of composite indicators for measuring regional inequalities. Composite indicators can usually represent, more adequately, multidimensional concepts such as well-being and development, and therefore can be used to measure regional inequality. In empirical terms, a composite indicator is proposed and estimated for NUTS 2 and 3 regions for the years 1991, 2001 and 2011.
