Abstract:
In Chapter 3, Daniela Anabel Gonzáles analyzes the process of constructing diasporic identities through music by studying the Italian community in Buenos Aires at the turn of the 19th century. The study covers interesting aspects of miscellaneous dimensions of the concept of “migration”, such as the sociocultural changes and exchanges, the acculturation and the integration, as well as the imaginative and symbolic relationships mediated by music.
