In this chapter, we study the role of the teacher and the learner and how they are differentiated and redefined in the digital age. We present in detail the European Framework for the Digital Competence of Educators, which is articulated around six different areas of professional activities of educators, which are analyzed extensively. In addition, the chapter studies the role of digital technology as a motivational factor in foreign language teaching and learning.
