Abstract:
Integrated STEM and STEAM education is presented as a relatively new pedagogical approach to solve authentic problems. For this purpose, the conditions of the natural environment and all kinds of restrictions such as social, environmental, technical, etc. are considered. STE(A)M education combines the instructional models of project, inquiry learning and problem solving, emphasizing on cooperative and collaborative learning. Integrated STEM and STEAM education focuses on integrating real-world issues into school practice, utilizes constructivist instructional models, as well as Engineering processes. It encourages "scientific thinking" in the sense of the term used in Science, Mathematics and Computer Science.
