Law and Cybercrime
Authors: Gavalakis, Nikolaos A.
Description:
Abstract:
The chapter deals with the legal view on cybercrime. The analysis is carried out at two levels: internationally and nationally. With reference to the first, the Convention of the European Union (EU) on Cybercrime (Budapest Convention) is presented regarding the procedures that led to its drafting as well as the provisions it provides. At the level of national legislation, the approach includes the legislation of the United States of America (USA) (at federal, state, and local level) and Greece. The selection of the national legislations was based on the criteria of timelessness and topicality regarding USA laws, and reason of locality regarding Greece.
