Description:
Abstract:
Hand is the basic anatomical structure of the human body, the functional perfection of which is necessary for the perception of the environment, the interaction with it and the performance of precision functions, this justifies the special place of our species among all primates. Therefore, fractures and amputations often present challenges for a surgeon as they can lead to severe functional impairment. The variety and severity of these injuries has led to the development of several severity rating scales and algorithms that are helpful in organizing the surgical treatment plan. The present chapter analyzes the main hand injuries, amputations and the appropriate treatment options.
