Authors: Zibis, Aristidis
Fillos, Apostolos
Description:
Abstract:
The upper extremity forms the arm of a marvelous instrument called hand. Thanks to it we can communicate, feed, work, and serve ourselves. The appropriateknowledge and understanding of its anatomy form these conditions that will enablea young doctor to recognize and understand its pathology. Besides the anatomy of the upper extremity, this chapter also presents the basic science of the physiology of fracture healing and soft tissue injuries. No injury is exactly the same as the previous one or the following one. A deep knowledge of the basic concepts and of modern literature will allow the doctor to personalize the approach and treatment of the patient.
