Abstract:
Despite the fact that they have been neglected from educational and political bodies throughout the years, multigrade schools remain a reality on an international level, mainly because of the special geomorphological conditions of the areas in which they exist. Furthermore, their presence is predicted to intense in the future as well. Children with a wide range of ages, skills and abilities, interests, maturity levels and needs coexist in these schools. The organization of small schools, considering many factors, is thought to be necessary. in order to deal with the difficulties that arise, as a result of the organizational and functional conditions of Small schools, to be confronted, Moreover the work of teachers has to be made easier and a high quality education for their students has to be assured.. The main subject of this paper is to present the different ways students can work in multigrade schools. It is supported by a number of points regarding the preparation and planning of a lesson, which focus on issues such as dealing with the teaching time that is available, classroom organization and other factors that are basic for the support of the teaching and learning procedures.
