This chapter introduces the reader to the conceptual modeling and design of Databases. In this context, it presents the Entity-Relationship Model (ERM) and the Extended Entity-Relationship Model (EERM), while it presents the conceptual design process with the ERM and the EERM, where criteria for data representation at the conceptual level are expressed.
