Description:
Abstract:
The second chapter introduces the reader to the concept of cost, its classification into three basic elements (direct materials, direct labour and overheads), as well as its behaviour in relation to production (variable, fixed, semi-variable). Then, the cost estimation technique based on the high/low production analysis is illustrated. Additionally, the flow of cost in the production process is described along with its recording (as product cost and period cost) in the financial accounting statements. The chapter concludes with the content of the accounts of Analytical Accounting (Group 9) based on the Greek Accounting Standards.
