Abstract:
The notion of compact Riemann surface is introduced as well as the theory of meromorphic and holomorphic functions and differential forms on them. The relation to complex projective algebraic curves is explained as well as the Galois theory of ramified covers. Basic theorems like Riemann-Hurwitz, Riemann-Roch and Abel-Jacobi are studied.
