Abstract: |
This chapter presents the different needs of geo-applications that require 3D models, such as geosciences, mining, 3D cadastre, etc. Also, advanced models and structures such as point clouds, lines in space, edge meshes, surface shells, stereometry, octree, etc. are discussed. In addition, methods of analytical operations between three-dimensional geo-objects and appropriate visualizations of their complexity are mentioned.
